LOCATION
How to find us…
The White Hart Inn is located on the ‘Wharfage’ which is a narrow road which runs along the River Severn. We have a coutyard which overlooks the road and the river beyond.
The White Hart does not have a car park. There is some over night parking on the street (The Wharfage), and this is free from 6pm. There is a short stay car park just opposite the Ironbridge on our side (1 hour max!) however our nearest car park is the long stay car park is the other side of the Iron Bridge. 24hr is approx. £6. To access this car park details here
Or follow the river downstream from us, cross over the new bridge & follow the signs to the Iron Bridge car park. You can then walk across the iron bridge onto the main street and we are just 200 yards down. On arrival pull up near to us on the double yellow lines and check in first so we can direct you, a short stop won’t upset anyone. BUT please do not park in our neighbours car park next door – (it looks like our car park but isn’t) …they do get understandably upset!
ACCESS: The White Hart building is old and has proved hard to completely adapt. However there is a flat clear entrance into the bar. There is one step down into the lower restaurant. Technically you can access our rooms from a ground floor access without using steps or stairs but it is a fairly steep ramp to the rear door.
About Ironbridge
One of Shropshire’s top attractions, the Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. But please do not be deceived by our heritage. Nowadays the area is far from industrial. Although the revolution started here, most of the factories are long gone and the natural beauty of the Gorge has been restored.
Beyond the Museums
Of course many of our visitors are attracted to the superb Victorian themed museums operated by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust.
However the Gorge is a splendid attraction in its own right. Nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving us with a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes.
The former homes of the Victorian Iron Masters and their workers can still be found in the communities around the Gorge. But no longer will you find the grimy back streets, or rows of chimneys belching back smoke. Nowadays the old homes are set in the picturesque villages and hamlets dotted across the valley.
Beyond the Gorge and the Museums you have the beauty of Shropshire to explore, with medieval towns, spectacular scenery gardens and historical sites dating back over 2000 years.

Capturing History
We love to work with local Ironbridge businesses here at The White Hart Inn.
Local artist and regular at our Ironbridge pubs, Jon Loxton, created this lovely water colour of our Ironbridge Pub, capturing the creative essence of Ironbridge.
He also kindly created one for our sister pub, the Water Rat Inn too. Read more about Jon Loxton and The Water Rat Inn here.
If you like his work and love your home, let him make a personalised memory for you. Visit Jon Loxton’s website here
